FAQs
Do we accept insurance?
Luna Assessment Group is a private practice dedicated to providing comprehensive, individualized psychoeducational evaluations. We do not accept medical insurance because most insurance plans do not cover educational or school-related assessments, including evaluations for learning disabilities or giftedness. These services are typically considered “non-medical” and fall outside the scope of reimbursable mental health treatment.
What types of payments do you accept?
Luna Assessment Group strives to make the payment process simple and secure. We currently accept:
- Credit and Debit Cards – All major providers are supported.
- Zelle – A convenient option for direct transfers.
By offering flexible payment methods, we ensure families can focus on what matters most: receiving high-quality psychoeducational assessments and support for their child’s learning journey.
Do I have to stay with my child?
We understand that the testing process can feel new or overwhelming for children. To help ease the transition, parents are welcome to stay with their child during the first 30 minutes of the evaluation in the waiting area. After this initial period, I will let you know whether it’s best for you to remain or step out and return later. This approach ensures your child feels comfortable while also allowing for accurate, independent assessment.
How long will the evaluation take?
A full psychoeducational evaluation typically takes 2–4 hours to complete. For your child’s comfort, we can break the assessment into two sessions across two days if needed.
Once testing is finished, I carefully analyze the results and prepare a comprehensive written report. The final report will be available within 3 weeks, at which time we will schedule an in-person meeting to review the findings together. This meeting is an opportunity to discuss results, answer questions, and provide recommendations tailored to your child’s needs.
